Stanford Recreation & Wellness

On Wednesday, January 8 at 9 a.m., registration opens for  Stanford Recreation & Wellness (Rec) Winter Quarter classes.

Stay fit with the flexibility to drop into fitness classes with the Group Fitness Program, or take a Recreational Activity or Aquatics Course to learn and develop with individuals of similar skill level.

Group Fitness Passes (Cardinal, Cardinal Cycling and Platinum Pass Options):
Stanford Recreation and Wellness offers three different pass options available through the Group Fitness Program:

  • Follow this link for student-only registration for the Cardinal, Cardinal Cycling, and Platinum Pass. Take classes like F45, Zumba, Pilates, Yoga Bootcamp and many more! Passes are limited to ensure quality classes, and subject to availability.
  • The Cardinal Group Fitness Pass gives access to all non-reservation based classes at both the main campus and Redwood City.
  • The Platinum Group Fitness Pass gives access to all classes available on the Cardinal and Cycling Group Fitness Passes PLUS additional reservation-based classes for an add-on fee of $60 per quarter.
  • The Cycling Group Fitness Pass gives access to all Cardinal Pass classes, plus reservation-based cycling classes.

All participants pay a quarterly fee for the Pass they select. Classes are designed for all fitness levels.

Recreational Courses (Badminton, Basketball, Golf, Ashtanga Yoga, Pre & Post Natal Fitness, and more)

Free Preview Week

Monday, January 13 through Saturday, January 19 is a free Preview Week. All classes will be open to all participants, and no proof of a Group Fitness Pass is necessary. There is no limit to how many classes you can attend but every class is first come, first served.

Sponsored by Stanford Recreation & Wellness (Rec). Bring a friend and try classes such as 305 Fitness Cardio Dance, Power Yoga, F45 and many more.

  • Participants must have a Stanford-issued ID card to enter the facility.
  • Individuals without Stanford-issued ID cards will be required to pay a day pass fee to participate in FREE Fitness Week.
  • Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • You may want to bring a towel and water bottle.

Climbing Wall Hours

Monday – Friday 4:00pm – 9:00pm
Tuesday & Thursday 8:00am – 1:00p
Saturday 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Family Hours: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Sunday 1:00pm – 5:00pm
*Free belay lesson are on a first come, first served basis, Monday – Friday at 5pm.

NOTE: The Climbing Wall (@AOERC) is CLOSED from 12/13 – 1/12

Winter Intramurals

  • Registration is now open for Winter Intramural sports
    • Sign up for 5v5 Basketball and 4v4 Indoor Soccer!
    • The final day to register is January 9th, but leagues are already filling up. Learn more and register here.

Adventure Program

Weekend Outdoor Trips: Day-hiking, backpacking, & kayaking, oh my!
Early Bird Trip Sign Ups start Thursday, Jan. 9 – 8:00-11:00am – Outdoor Center
    • Early Bird Sign Up is for student members (undergrad & graduate students).
    • Individuals must be present to sign up for trips.
    • Adventure Program Membership is $15 for one calendar year.
    • Trips are non-transferable
    • Trips are non-refundable unless the trip is canceled by the Adventure Program.
    • Due to high demand, Stanford Adventure Program Members can sign up for only one multi-day Adventure trip and one single-day trip during week 1. After week 1, registration is unlimited.
    • Pre-trip meetings, if noted, are REQUIRED.
